What I Wore: Casual Workwear

I'm probably the last person to care about what's latest on fashion trends because (a) I'm forever insecure about my body; (b) I'm awkward; and (c) fashion is such a fast-paced industry that nobody has time to keep up with (or so I think). If I may share, I was firm on going to the university I went to in college because students wore school uniforms.

Unlike most kids my age, then, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on clothes, and still worry about what to wear to school on a daily basis.

After graduation, I was lucky that employees in the company I ended up working with didn't wear strict business attires, too. If I'm not fortunate enough, I'd say the same about my current workplace. I get that certain companies or industries prefer a "more professional" look for their employees, but in the defense of those whose employees come in at work wearing casual outfits, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're "unprofessional."

In the biotechnology industry I'm currently in, it's OK to dress casually, provided you wear closed-toe shoes at all times (and that's pretty much self-explanatory). I think I've established a notion in this blog that I live in my hoodie jackets, T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.

I'm sorry to keep your hopes up; this isn't entirely an #OOTD post (because again, I'm awkward and insecure), but these are only four of the casual ensembles I actually wear to work:

OLIVE GREEN UTILITY JACKET / STRIPED LONG-SLEEVED SHIRT / LONG NECKLACE / MEDIUM-WASH JEANS / CANVAS DUFFLE BAG / WHITE SNEAKERS

I may not own a lot of clothes, but I try to make the most of what I currently have.

If I'm being honest, I have not worn the same ensemble at work twice since I started working. I keep an outfit diary where I list the stuff I wore for a particular day, and try to avoid wearing it again two weeks in a row. It's work on top of my other responsibilities as a wife, but planning my outfits is kind of fun, too!

What's your typical casual workwear like?
