Padres Win!

San Diego Padres Cover | SCATTERBRAIN

If I'm being completely honest, I don't know much about baseball. In fact, the New York Yankees were the only baseball team I knew, and I was horrified to find out that there are 30 of them in two different leagues, the National and American. I always thought they were the sole American team, in case you're wondering.

I'm a big basketball fan. My brothers and I grew up going to our paternal grandfather's ancestral house weekly for Sunday brunch with the whole family, cheering over our favorite basketball team. Roan, however, sports his Seattle Seahawks merchandise all the time if that's any indication that he loves American football.

Would you believe that Roan and I started taking interest in baseball when a game's always on at our favorite sushi place? Either that or Days of Our Lives is. We're always seated facing the TV, so it was difficult not to get sucked into watching.

One Saturday, Roan and I spontaneously went to our first live baseball game. We purchased our tickets on the same day as the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks were playing. Interestingly, they were having a Star Wars-themed game. Some people even dressed up like Princess LeiaLuke SkywalkerDarth Vader, Jar Jar Binks, and Stormtroopers

Roan coerced me into sharing a

About half an hour later, our faces were plastered on the big screen!

Can you tell that I sort of panicked when I saw our faces on the big screen?? #GoPADRES!⚾️ pic.twitter.com/deRovyDxSr

I never thought watching a live baseball game would be fun. I know a lot of people don't like baseball because either they don't get it or they just don't find as exciting as basketball or football. I found myself cheering for the Padres like I would with my favorite basketball team. It's so crazy fun that even the lady sitting next to me was telling me to cheer louder for the Padres

I know the Padres aren't the best baseball team out there, but it's the experience of watching a game live with Roan that's special. It didn't matter if we knew the rules by heart; it's having a great time that did. You don't know how grateful we were that the Padres won that night, ha!
