Among the first historical places Roan took me when I arrived in America was in Old Town San Diego. In my attempt to clear an accumulation of two months worth of photo backlog in my gallery, I'll showcase some of my favorite shots from our day trip there. I think we went there on the same day we visited the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial.
Old Town San Diego is considered the "birthplace" of California. Touring around Old Town was like seeing California in the 1800s. This historic state park consists of both original and restored establishments, and most of them are still operational to this day.
One of my favorites was Toby's Candle and Soap Shop because the place smelled divine inside.When you walk further into Fiesta de Reyes (Feast of Kings), you will find a number of Mexican restaurants and boutiques. On weekends, a band plays at the center stage to entertain locals and tourists alike. Among the famous attractions in the site is The Whaley House, which was cited as "the most haunted house in America" by LIFE Magazine in 2005. If you're up for some ghost-hunting adventures, then this is the place to be. (Note: Roan has yet to convince me into taking the challenge of going in just for fun. No, thank you.)
