Paskuhan 2014

With only three days until Christmas, I guarantee that the holiday spirit has taken over everyone else in the world. While you're at it, let me share a few photos from a recent event my brother and I went to that has something to do with the Christmas season.

Among the highly-anticipated events my Alma Mater, the University of Santo Tomas, offers is Paskuhan in December. It is often celebrated in anticipation of Misa de Gallo or Simbang Gabi, which is a Catholic tradition in preparation for Christmas Day. The university campus has been opened for the public since UST was declared as a National Historical Landmark in 2011 (Quadricentennial Celebration). The last time we both went to this event was the last December before we graduated; so when my brother said that he's going, I immediately agreed to join him.

The UST grounds were already packed when we arrived.

I don't think I have ever seen the campus with that much crowd since our Baccalaureate Mass. I used to look forward to Paskuhan because of free concert, free food, and the company of friends. According to my brother, things have changed since 2011 when the organizing student body introduced new offerings such as a variety of booths for fun, games, and a giant inflatable slide.

Last, but certainly not the least, Thomasians anticipate the maginificent pyrotechnic display every year to highlight the event. Here's a sped-up version of the video I took during the show:
