It's time for yet another update on what's going on with life in little squares. I don't know if any of you has noticed, but I pretty much post there more often lately, but mostly on weekends when Roan and I are out and about. I have a lot of interesting things to share in today's installment, so how about we get right on it?

one. This is the statue of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo (João Rodrigues Cabrilho in Portugese), the first European explorer to navigate the coast of present-day California in the United States. Roan and I went to the Cabrillo National Monument to learn more about the history of California. It is also where you will find the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, which has been a San Diego icon since 1855. | two. Roan and I headed straight to the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla to take a glimpse of the colorful marine life of California. This little guy here is called the yellow tang, and he was my favorite among all other fishes I saw that day. | three. I wore a denim chambray shirt (not shown in the photo), a black maxi skirt (old, similar), and a flat sandals (Sbicca, similar) on the same day we went to Cabrillo National Monument and Birch Aquarium. We had a bipolar weather that day—one minute it's sunny, then it's raining the next. I wore the perfect outfit for the weather!
four. Roan and I had a good laugh on our way out of the Birch Aquarium when he cracked a joke about these whale statues looking like pickles.
They do look like one, don't they? | five. I decided to wear a fail-proof outfit on 4th of July—a striped top (old, similar), ripped jeans (Mossimo), and my trusty pair of white low-cut Converse Chuck Taylors. | six. My Auntie Marie and I went to Coronado Island on a sunny Tuesday for a bike ride along the coastline. We had so much fun in spite of laughing at ourselves trying to get on it because it's been a while since we rode a bike.seven. I know I have yet to share photos from our random trip to Palm Springs, but this one was taken from the end-point of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, leading to Mt. Jacinto State Park. | eight. This old couple is a work of art. I did a double take when I saw them at the Palm Springs Art Museum because they look so much alive in person, it's creepy. | nine. Ladies and gentlemen, that's the Joshua Tree in the foreground. (Side note: Both Roan and I thought the Joshua Tree was anything like this one in Balboa Park. Hahaha!)
