Fact: Being a blogger or a social media
I never work with any brand or company that I don't deem fit for this blog. That's a promise. If I don't feel right about it, then I won't do it. Plain and simple.

Last month, Promise Organic got in touch for an opportunity to try their products out. I've never heard of this brand/company, so essentially, I went on their website to hopefully get as much information about them before accepting their invitation. With careful thought, I agreed to share my honest opinion in exchange of free PR products.
It came as a surprise when I received these goodies in the mail: three (3) sets of their Nourishing Coconut Milk Daily Facial Scrub with Sugar and Walnut and Nourishing Coconut Milk Hand Cream with Shea Butter, which are both suitable for normal to combination skin type, plus a personal note that explains why they wanted to collaborate with me.

I've probably tried at least three different daily facial scrubs since I moved here in the US last year, but Promise Organic's has to be the first that's made from organic ingredients.
Now don't confuse "natural" with "organic." Products with natural ingredients do not necessarily mean they're organic. Think of it this way: natural products, minimally processed/free from synthetic ingredients; organic products, produced without using conventional pesticides or fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients. Promise Organic prides themselves for using NSF/ANSI 305-certified organic ingredients in all their products.I've been using a facial cleansing brush as part of my current daily skin care routine. To test Promise Organic's full potential, however, I gave my cleansing brush a rest, and exclusively used their Nourishing Coconut Milk Daily Facial Scrub with Sugar and Walnut twice daily for two weeks. Other than an oil-free moisturizer and a sunscreen, I took a break from wearing any makeup during this time, too.
This may seem like a bold thing to say, but I loved it on first use. It has a nice and thick consistency (coconut milk and a touch of honey) that definitely smelled (and may or may not taste) like sugar, which makes it a gentle exfoliation for daily use. The walnut factor is what helps keep the skin moisturized. I had a fresh blemish or two, plus a bit sunburnt from a trip at the beach, on the night I first used this. Since I didn't use anything new, I figured that the honey in this product helped soothe my troubled skin.
If I'm being honest, I'm not a fan of hand creams because I don't like the greasy, clammy feeling they leave in my palms. I feel restless when my palms are like that, always wanting to wash my hands immediately with soap to get rid of the sticky feeling. With Promise Organic's Nourishing Coconut Milk Hand Cream with Shea Butter, I don't get the same feeling, which is a good thing! It's strange because hand creams are usually thicker in consistency than regular lotions, and with Shea butter added into the mix, it's definitely even more moisturizing.
I find that this hand cream will be more beneficial to me during the colder months, but using it during this season isn't so bad. I do prefer to use it at night before bedtime, however, so I wake up with moisturized hands the next day.
Promise Organic not only promises purity and product effectiveness. With naturally derived ingredients, what have you got to lose? The part I love most of them is that they promise to donate 1% of all their product sales to The Nature Conservancy. Not only are you caring for your skin, you give back to Mother Nature, too. Isn't that fantastic?
