one. I'm not big on sweets, but I never refuse ice cream or a frozen yogurt. Sometimes, the best way to end a work week is by having a cup at the Golden Spoon, which is my current favorite fro-yo place. Has anyone else tried them? | two. In case you didn't know, Roan's currently taking up his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. His professor in Environmental Science sent them to Scripps Coastal Reserve for a homework. This is probably the most interesting hike we've ever taken because we completed the loop in under one hour.

I'd spend a couple more, sitting by the cliff with this view though. | three. The day I posted this photo was rather eventful. It had nothing to do with the photo per se, but it was an inspiration. Read the caption .

four. I've decided to grow my hair out because I miss styling my hair in braids. This was my first attempt at doing side braids with a little pony tail, and I think it looked great. (Of course, I had to put a pink ribbon emoji as final touch.) | five. Roan and I don't go to the beach as often as we did last summer, but when we do, I choose to just lay down and read. P.S. I don't know how I lived without a Kindle Paperwhite before! | six. Roan and I went to LA last weekend for an unplanned getaway if you can call it. We booked our hotel two weeks ago, knowing that we'd pick my father-in-law up from LAX on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't until last week when we found out that he's staying in Manila for another month. Since everything had been set (including meeting Roan's friend), we pushed through with the trip. Our weekend started with a highway patrol chase on CA-405 involving a red SUV (that lasted hours), the Sand Fire in Santa Clarita, and another fire in Downtown LA. To say that it's crazy is an understatement.

seven. On our way back to San Diego, Roan took me to The Kettle in Manhattan Beach for brunch. Their classic and salmon benedicts are top-notch! If you're in the area, you definitely have to check them out. | eight. After having brunch, we maximized our 2-hour parking spot by strolling down the Manhattan Beach Pier where we watched surfers do what they do best. | nine. I'm fortunate to be able to work remotely whenever (of course, I have to give my boss heads-up in advance), but instead of working at home, I decided to go somewhere else. This makeshift garden waterfall was my view yesterday. No regrets!
