Every year since I took blogging seriously, I've been writing a year-end wrap-up. This year is no exception, of course. Since our wedding last year, I slowly found the time to do more personal things, which includes blogging. With 2014 behind us, it's time to take a look back on amazing things that happened over the past year.
Here's the year that was on SCATTERBRAIN:
Among the significant things that happened on the blog is my move from WordPress to Squarespace in August. The decision to move was influenced by Shayne who did the same just two months ahead. If you ask me how I feel about this move, I'd say that it's been quite interesting working with a what-you-see-is-what-you-get platform. It did take a lot of getting used to, but I eventually got the hang of things around here. In fact, I think it's pretty awesome!
I was able to publish a total of 130 posts this year (including this one), and it's quite an improvement from 2013. While you're at it, here are the links to the most visited pages on SCATTERBRAIN:
Official Wedding Photos #RoanMarriesJae / Behind The Scenes: #RoanMarriesJae / Stop Overcharging Your iPhone / Holiday Gift Guide for The Husband / 6 Places I Want to Revisit / My Christmas Wishlist / The Daykeeper 2015 / First Year / Appreciate / Meanwhile...
It is also worth noting that my blog has grown dramatically over the span of one year, and I owe this to my friends in real life and in the blogging community who continue to support and appreciates this humble space of mine.
You rock, guys!If you're wondering about my personal life, however, 2014 has been a crucial year for me. The first quarter was rather emotional because Roan had to go back to the US after our wedding. I tell you, it was such a major buzzkill. We started sending our application for petition to the US in February, and it's still on-going at NVC as of today. For this reason, I decided to quit from being a production editor in July. I finally found the time to do the things I dreamed of doing more when I still had a full-time job such as blogging and reading!
Just like last year, December's the busiest of all busy days. Roan and I marked our first wedding anniversary, and I've shared some off-the-record photos from our Big Day here on the blog. I learned a couple of lessons during our first year together, which were both refreshing and reinforcing. Although we're thousands of miles apart, nothing stopped me from celebrating our anniversary with my family. We have plenty of time to make up for the lost times next year, though!
I may be basking in the sun once this post goes live; probably the highlight of my 2014 because I got to travel abroad again with my family. Although I wish Roan were here with us, I think it's a perfect way to end the eventful year with a bang, and welcome the new one with great expectation! As always, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who've made my 2014 amazing and worth remembering. Cheers to 2014! Let's all make 2015 even more awesome!
